The Great Machine

“It's a poster for one of my earliest experiments... doesn't work though, complete waste of time.“ This page refers to content that is not present in the final versions of the game due to being cut, removed or repurposed.

The Great Machine is is a level that was cut from MediEvil.

It was to be a very platform oriented level where Daniel would navigate around the outside of a huge steam powered machine avoiding moving pistons and jets of steam. The Time Device was redesigned to accommodate the loss of the Great Machine. The Cathedral Spires level from MediEvil 2 is similar in concept to this level.

It is possible that the beginning of the level featured a train ride around Zarok's Lair, which would mean that this is the rumored Train Level.
