MediEvil: Fate's Arrow
Dan then doesn't see Lupo until much later when Lupo saves him from Zarok's thugs in the Mystic Maidens by transforming into a werewolf. Lupo recognises the undead Dan as his master due to Griff's fairy magic.
After the two Dans swap bodies, Lupo stays behind to watch over the now skeletal Captain Fortesque.
Despite his master's mistreatment, Lupo appears to be a loyal dog, defending and guarding his master.
Behind the scenes
Lupo was originally developed as a character for the PS2 sequel to MediEvil 2, Fate's Arrow. A squeaky dog toy was going to be an item that could be thrown around to direct his attacks against larger enemies and bosses. Lupo would tear around as an AI character, following Dan as a sidekick.
